The Hamilton Municipal Airport is one of the best airports in the area with instrument landing capability, airplane storage, fuel and courtesy car.
  • Hamilton Municipal Airport is 2 miles south of Hamilton and has the longest runway within 40 nautical miles, with a 5000' X 75' runway.
  • The runway supports aircraft up to 30,000 lbs.
  • Fuel available at the airport is 100LL and Jet A.
  • Approaches available are RNAV (GPS) RWY18, RNAV (GPS) RWY 36, NDB RWY36. The FAA is working on modifying the airport approaches by July of 2012.
  • Future plans also include a new fuel system by 2013 that includes single point fueling of aircraft.
  • Other improvements in 2012 include building 10 new 42-44' enclosed T hangers with concrete floor and one new 65' enclosed hanger.
  • Other 2012 modifications include runway and taxiways overlay complete with runway and taxiway markings.
  • Enclosed vehicle storage is part of the new hangers.
  • The runway has medium intensity runway lights, a lighted wind cone, and segmented circle, and lighted tetrahedron.

  • Other visual aids include a Pulse Light Approach Slope Indicator (PLASI) and a rotating beacon in operation from sunset to sunrise.
  • A courtesy car is available. For use of the car , call ahead to city hall 254-386-8116 or the airport at 254-386-3939.
  • Available older T-hangers may be rented for $10.00 per night.
  • Tie downs on the ramp area are available at no charge.
  • Please contact city hall at 254-386-8116 for any tie down or hangering need.
  • An Automated Weather Observation Station (AWOS) serves Hamilton airport on the frequency of 118.525T, or you may call 254-386-8211 for current field conditions.

When runway 18-36 was built, the old runway was left intact and serves as the main runway for the Hamilton Radio Control Flying Club. Although operation days for the club are a little more weather restrictive, the scale models are a lot of fun to watch and fly.
